OPENING ACCESS TO HIS GESAMTKUNSTWERK
MAURICE SCHILLING is opening access to his Gesamtkunstwerk by establishing a new digital system that brings together over two decades of practice into a continuous body across past, present and future.
GESAMTKUNSTWERK After more than 20 years of independent practice, this marks the first time Maurice Schilling is opening up access to a larger whole. Not as separate works, but as a continuous body of work. What has evolved over time, across different phases and directions, now exists side by side in one place. The platform offers a comprehensive view into the full scope of his practice, spanning creation across art, design, collaborations and entrepreneurial ventures, alongside the ideas, thinking, context and aesthetic that shape them. It is built to bring everything into one coherent system and to make that system accessible.
At its core, this is his evolving Gesamtkunstwerk. The platform launches with around 150 entries and well over a thousand pieces of content, built from scratch as a bespoke system using state-of-the-art technology. It was developed over the past months in close collaboration and with dedicated help from technologist Tom Kloevekorn. More than a technical foundation, it is the result of revisiting years of work, recontextualising and rebuilding, and confronting earlier stages with a new level of clarity and conviction. Blood, sweat and yes, a lot of tears.
At the same time, the platform is deeply rooted in his artistic practice. It is not only a system to access the work, but an extension of it. The interface itself becomes a space for composition, where structure, rhythm and interaction are treated with the same intention as any other medium. Through constant variation, shifting views and evolving arrangements, it invites a slower, more attentive way of exploring. Less a static presentation, more a continuous process of seeing, navigating and reassembling.
Designed as a long-term system, it will continue to grow and expand over time, continuously extending across past, present and future. It creates a direct and unfiltered access to the work in its entirety, invites exploration through different ways of navigating, and opens up clear ways to engage, collaborate and build new work together.
